The Dundaxian Codex Wiki

The following page outlines the rules for conduct within the Wiki and its affiliated communities.

Conduct Rules

These rules are adapted from the Hootsclub rules, originally written by James Cartwright and his moderator team for their server.

  1. Don't be a twat!
  2. Be respectful to others. Personal attacks, insults, or otherwise insensitive language will not be tolerated. Have common sense: if someone is clearly uncomfortable, stop the behavior you are exhibiting immediately.
  3. Do not make comments about politics, race, sexuality, creed, religion, gender, etc. Hate speech and other offensive content will be taken seriously.
  4. Do not post NSFW or obscene content. Do not make graphic comments or post graphic imagery, including sexual topics, pornography, and gore.
  5. No unsolicited self-promotion.
  6. Please speak English. This is an English-speaking community.
  7. Do not send unsolicited, unwelcome, abusive, or harassing direct messages to other users.
  8. Keep the topic related to Gloryhammer lore first and foremost. This is not a wiki about Angus McSix, Victorious, or any other band/topic.
  9. Do not harass, grief, impersonate, or doxx any members or admins of this wiki. We have a 0 tolerance policy for abuse towards us and will act accordingly in any instance.

If ever in doubt, refer to rule #1!

Codex Edit Rules

The following are general guidelines for making wiki edits. Failure to comply will result in rollbacks of contributions; purposeful breaking of the rules will result in disciplinary action.

  1. Language - Please refrain from swearing within the contents of the wiki.
  2. Neutral Tone - The admin team is aware that there are many competing opinions on certain matters within the community. We ask that these squabbles are kept off the wiki and that all articles focus on information, not opinion.
  3. Sources and Citations - Cite trustworthy sources for all edits and information, such as album booklets or posts from band members.
  4. Edit summaries - For each edit, give it a description before publishing; this makes it easier to manage rollbacks later.
  5. No lore assumptions - Do not post your lore assumptions. Only post the confirmed lore as it is presented in official band materials (or posts made by band members addressing the canonical lore).
  6. Recentness - Recently released lore (such as new albums) takes precedence over past speculations/posts.
  7. Band member edits - If dealing with a page that was created or modified by a band member, their edits take precedence over user edits. They are considered a source of truth.

Considerations on Non-Canonical Content

Given the age of the wiki and ever-changing lore, it is inevitable that we will have pages with information that is no longer canonical to the Gloryhammer lore. Most out-dated content can and should be deleted; however, sometimes non-canonical content must be kept, such as if it was created by a band-member. For non-canon content, if deemed to be kept, please use a disclaimer at the top of the page, with verbiage such as the following example:
NOTICE: The following content is not canonically relevant to the lore of the Gloryhammer albums and timeline.

Topics and Considerations

Angus McSix

Anything involving Angus McSix or similar side projects is non-canonical. We recommend removing it from the wiki completely, as it involves a different spinoff universe which is no longer affiliated with the Gloryhammer band. A separate Angus McSix wiki exists if you wish to contribute to that lore. Furthermore, due to the charged and controversial nature of the topic, we ask that no Angus McSix content is posted on this wiki or mentioned in discussions at the current time. This is for the benefit of our entire community.

Band Member Pages

Pages for current and former band members, while not canonical to the lore directly, should be created. They should be kept short and respectful and contain basic information.

Final Thoughts

These rules are subject to change at any time and without prior warning. No matter how much we try to make the rules exhaustively cover all possibilities, we cannot foresee every situation that will arise. Above all else, we ask for you to have a collaborative attitude and make constructive contributions to our wiki.
